Every year many residents of Bessacarr and Cantley open their private gardens to members of the public to raise funds, which are then donated to local good causes and on this occasion DonMentia will be one of the beneficiaries.
This year they have kindly offered to keep open a small number of gardens all within a short walk of each other, for an extra day, for the sole use of DonMentia, at no charge.
Some of these gardens are really spectacular and most have level paths and easy access. Walkers Garden Centre are also generously supplying afternoon teas for the visitors with Dr Ken Kilvington allowing his beautiful garden to be utilised for teas and coffees.
He said, “We are all aware of the difficulties encountered by carers of people with dementia so the garden owners are delighted to help make this into an enjoyable day out in some small way”
