An early morning ribbon-cutting ceremony paid off handsomely for DonMentia founder Eileen Harrington, when supermarket bosses presented her with £250 cheque to support her valuable charity work.
Eileen was the special guest of Heron Foods, who invited her to officially open their latest store in Scawthorpe, Doncaster after finding out about DonMentia’s important work in the local community.
Using a giant pair of scissors, Eileen declared the store well and truly open for business, but not before taking the opportunity to tell a waiting crowd of bargain hunting shoppers how DonMentia helps Doncaster people with dementia and their carers.
Store chiefs handed over the cheque by way of thanks to ‘celebrity’ Eileen.
