DESCRIPTION:DonMentia is offering a free trip to Cannon Hall and Farm  \nBark House Ln\, Cawthorne\, Barnsley S75 4AT \nto people currently experiencing dementia and their regular carer\, to include lunch \n To reserve a space\, please fill in the form below after checking ‘the notes’ \nCannon Hall is situated approximately twenty miles from Doncaster and will take about an hour on the coach.  It is well known to most local people for its many on-site facilities and its current television presence so there is sure to be something of interest to everyone. \n  \nLunch will be taken in the White Bull restaurant at 12.30pm in an area especially reserved for us. \n  \nThe visit to the farm itself is an additional cost to the free amenities and whilst it is of interest it may prove too much for many\, especially for those with limited mobility\, as there is a lot of walking involved.  As well as the usual pigs\, sheep\, chickens\, goats and expected farm animals there are llamas and Highland cattle with ferret races being a frequent feature.  If you feel able and wish to visit\, please let me know during the meal as tickets must be purchased separately.  This is not a problem but obviously it would be wasteful if tickets are bought and then not fully used. \n  \nA suggestion for after lunch – arm yourself with an ice cream and just sit and admire the wonderful views of the countryside from the front of the hall.  However\, if you’re feeling energetic take a tour around the hall\, which doubles as a museum and is free to all\, or go for a woodland walk\, or down to the lake\, or browse the wonderful Farm Shop and buy something for next day’s dinner. \n  \nWe will start the return journey home to Doncaster at 3pm\, taking the scenic route with a drive through the Pennines\, which will be prettier than the direct route\, expecting to return to the carpark at approximately 4.30pm. \nAs usual all DonMentia events are free to all participants.  However\, if you drop out after Thursday 21st September\, a fee of £15 per person will be payable due to the expenses that will already have been incurred by DonMentia. \nCould you also indicate choice of meal please (in the additional information on the form) \n\n\n\nFish\, chips & peas\nSteak pie\, chips\, peas & gravy\nLasagne\, chips & salad\nSandwiches of any variety & salad \nState choice\n\n\n\n\n\n  \n\n\n\n Event or Trip Name (required)\n \n \n Your Name (required)\n \n \n Your Email\n \n Your Phone (required)\n\n Your Address\n \n Additional Information\n \n \nIf this event requires the purchase of a ticket\, please tick the box to confirm that you will reimburse DonMentia for the cost of the ticket even if you\, for some reason\, cannot atttend on the day.\n \nTick the box \n \n\n Δ \n\n\n\n

DESCRIPTION:Every year many residents of Bessacarr and Cantley open their private gardens to members of the public to raise funds\, which are then donated to local good causes and on this occasion DonMentia will be one of the beneficiaries.\n\n\n\n\n\nThis year they have kindly offered to keep open a small number of gardens all within a short walk of each other\, for an extra day\, for the sole use of DonMentia\, at no charge.\nSome of these gardens are really spectacular and most have level paths and easy access. DESCRIPTION:Meet at 11.15am Austerfield Church\, DN10 6RG -for a tour and talk by a church volunteer \n  \n12.30pm to the Pilgrim Fathers pub and restaurant in Scrooby\, DN10 6AT\, for lunch (a ten-minute drive) \n  \nFollowing lunch there will another short talk and tour of Scrooby Church\, which is just across the road. \nBoth churches are small so there will not be a lot of walking involved. \nA minibus has been provided for those who do not have their own cars but it is anticipated that all who can make their way there\, will use their own transport.   \n The bus has already been paid for by DonMentia so is free to anyone in need\, but a mandatory fee of £10 per person will be charged if you book a place and then fail to take your seat.   \n The bus will depart from the Market Place Car Park\, Doncaster at 11am.  It will also take you to the Pilgrim Fathers and return to the same town centre car park at approximately 3pm but the return time is only a rough guide. \nIn November 2020 it will be 400 years since the founding of America.  Various religious groups\, who were being persecuted by King James 1st\, left England on a ship called the Mayflower\, to set up a new colony where they could practice their beliefs freely.  \n  \nWilliam Bradford\, who came from Austerfield\, became the first Governor of the Plymouth Colony in Massachusetts\, whose authority lasted for 30 years\, helped develop the first permanent colony in what came to be called New England. \n  \nWilliam Brewster\, from Scrooby\, became the senior elder and religious leader of the Colony and was also an adviser to Governor William Bradford. \n  \nThe trip is open to people with dementia and their regular carer \n  \n\n\n  \n\n\n\n Your Name (required)\n \n \n Your Email (required)\n \n \n Your Phone (required)  \n \n No. of Tickets Required  \n \nI accept this trip is undertaken at my/our own risk and DonMentia has no responsibility for mishaps.\n\n \nI/We will gladly make a donation of £10 per person to DonMentia should I/We fail to honour my/our commitment to taking part in this trip.\n \n\n Δ
